A print by Charles Lees portrait “The Golfers” A Grand match played over St Andrew’s Links.
The match was between Sir David Baird of Newbyth & Sir Ralph Anstruther of Balcastle against Mayor Playfair & John Campbell. Esq. of Saddell. Dozens of other well known golfers are shown in the scene. Some of his portraits can be seen in A History of the Royal and Ancient Golf Club by H.S.C. Everard published in 1907.
