Product Description
This club is a St. Andrews hand made Auld Reekie hickory golf club with sued leather grip in good condition. This putter was made back in 1982 with Hickory Shafted Laminated Head, made in St. Andrews, Scotland. This club is a scare-neck longnose wooden head Putter, with a nice wood grain finish and a rams horn insert held in place by three wooden dowels. Research tells us that The ST. ANDREWS GOLF CO, Glasgow & Dunfermline used the “Ogg-Mented” version of designing balanced sets of clubs which was invented by Willie Ogg. Denny Shute used St. Andrew clubs in winning the 1933 British Open. Other players using these clubs in the 1930’s were Gene Sarazen and Johnny Farrell. Their “stag” mark was in use from 1910 until 1925,while the “sun” mark was first used in 1925.
This Club is in good playable condition.
