This club has a Dot Punch regular pattern, Marked with the George Nicoll “hand” in use 1925+, Stamped Rustless,3 Iron, Hand Forged in Scotland and signed Gary Nicoll. Leven. Fife. Scotland. Research tells us that George Nicoll began forging irons in 1881 and the firm continued unger family supervision until 1982. His son, Robert (1884-1946). ran the firm in later years. The “hand” (stamp) was their earliest mark. Prior to using the “Hand” mark, the irons were stamped “G. Nicoll, Leven”. The “hand” mark on this club was in use: 1905-1910 and was not registered until 1924, but Nicoll claimed continuous usage since 1898 This Club is in good playable condition with a new Grip and Wax coated thread use for the whipping then finished with Acrylic to protect it from any bag damage that may occur. Please note: All our Clubs have been fully restored by a professional restorer of Hickory Golf Clubs; it/they will arrive with a Tarnish Guard to protect it from the damp air which will allow it to rust, and should be replaced after cleaning.
