This club has a Scored Line face pattern and marked with the Trade Lion of Andrew Herd Scott from Elie Fife, Stamped Pitcher, WARRANTED, HAND FORGED and reads J Brooks chorley. Research tells us that A.H.Scott succeeded Forgan as clubmaker to HRH the Prince of Wales following the coronation of Edward VII. This earned him the right to use the plume cyper of the prince. Upon the coronation of George V in 1911, Scott became clubmaker to the king. he devised a “Crown” mark a lion which differed from Forgan’s “royal” mark.
